This model has two pieces, which gravity feeds the water through the ceramic water filters, in the upper chamber, into the lower chamber.  With an easy to turn on/off spigot as the outflow tap.  The “Super Sterasyl” filters reduce up to 99.99% of particulates, cysts, parasites and pathogenic bacteria including but not limited to E.Coli, Cryptosporidium, Giaradia, Salmonella and Typhoid.  Additionally, British Berkefeld^® filters will reduce chlorine, rust, sediment and organic chemicals. The Big Berkey^® is constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel, the system comes complete with 4 filtration elements . This system has a storage capacity of about 2.25 gallons and when in use it stands 19.25" in height with a diameter of 8.5". The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 13" in height and has a flow rate of 25-30 gal/day.
